2016 Board Decisions

The following is a summary of business and financial decisions made by the Board of Directors in 2016.

JANUARY 19 & 20, 2016

BOARD DECISIONS

  • The Board approved the Bylaws for Local 107 and Local 69/69.1
  • The Board approved the Guest List for the 2016 Annual Meeting.
  • The Board approved the Charity for the 2016 Annual Meeting- “Children’s Haven” in Prince Albert.

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • The Board approved a donation to the United Way towards their Spirit Awards Luncheon for $300

 

MARCH 10 & 11, 2016

BOARD DECISION

  • Board approved the presidents vacation for April 4-7, 2016
  • Board approved the 2017 Board meeting dates

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • Board approved the 2015  audited financial report from  MNP
  • Donation of $1000 to Kids Help Phone
  • Funding approval of $150 Stipend and mileage for the RPNAS Special meeting (March 31, 2016)
  • Funding approval of $150 Stipend and mileage for the SRNA Special meeting (date unknown)

 

APRIL 19 & 21, 2016 - Pre & Post Annual Meeting

  • No decisions to report.

 

SEPTEMBER 14 & 15, 2016

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • The Board approved a donation to support the Wounded Warriors Weekend for $2500
  • The Board approved a donation to Briarpatch for $2500
  • The Board approved a donation to Child Find Saskatchewan for $1000
  • The Board approved a donation to the Regina Sexual Assault Centre for $1000

Reminders:

As per SUN’s Bylaws,  SUN District Council’s shall hold an annual meeting with members in the District between Sept 1st and Oct 31st of each calendar year.

The SDC Grant Application deadline is October 31st.

Eligibility to receive the annual grant is contingent on the submission of the following:

  • Bank statement and bank reconciliation for the fiscal year ending Sept 30.
  • Treasurers report for the 2015-2016 fiscal year – as presented to your annual meeting
  • Minutes from the 2016 SDC Annual meeting – include all officer’s reports and election results, Note: To not delay the grant submission, the minutes may be submitted separately.
  • Union Activity Plan for the upcoming year.
  • Budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
  • Equity exceeding $2500 will reduce the eligible grant amount.

SDC Chairs and Treasurers are encouraged to review the grant submission process as outlined in Membership Policy 035-M-2007

 

Note:   Locals are not required to submit their financial records to SUN Provincial.

Locals as per SUN’s Bylaws shall hold an annual meeting between Sept 1st and Oct 31st of each calendar year for the purpose of electing officers and committees.

  • Following the Annual Meeting please submit to SUN Provincial the names and contact information for your Executive including Committee Chairpersons. ( NAC and OH&S)

 

October 18 - 20, 2016

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • The Board approved the 2017 Budget as presented.

BOARD/SDC CHAIR MEETING - October 19

  • During the Board/SDC Chair Meeting attendees received presentations and updates from SUN staff on:
    • SUN"s Environmental Scan
    • Public Survey Results
    • Making the Difference Campaign
    • Transformational Change in Healthcare
    • Health Region Re-organization
    • Casual Availability Form

 

NOVEMBER 22 & 23, 2016

BOARD DECISIONS

  • The Board approved the Bylaws for Local 75.
  • The Board approved the Bylaws for Moose Mountain SDC.

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • The Board approved a donation to CCPA Saskatchewan for $5000.
  • The Board approved a donation of $700 to the United Way of Saskatchewan.
  • The Board approved a donation of $2500 to the Unemployed Workers Centre.
  • The Board approved a donation of $2000 to Kids Help Phone.

 

DECEMBER 14, 2016

BOARD DECISIONS

  • The Board approved the Merger of Local 150 Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan with Local 82 Lanigan Hospital and Homecare.

FINANCIAL DECISIONS

  • The Board approved a donation of $5000 to the Broadbent Institute.
